Sending SMS Messages For Free To Any Phone In The World
How To Send Text Message To Any Phone In The World
What is a text message? A text message is basically a short email to another phone. SMS stands for Short Message Service - 160 characters or less. The message can be sent from phone to phone but can get expensive if sending to an international phone. As mentioned SMS is really only an email message.
With this knowledge you can send a text from any computer or any phone in the world for free. This is accomplished by getting the carrier info from the person you want to text, Sprint, Verizon, Orange, Tmobile. Once this information is at hand, simple place the phone number before the @sign and type your message, press send and instantly the message will appear on the receiving phone screen as a text message.
I found a pretty complete list of carriers on Wikipedia or my Nikashi Blog ever growing list of carriers. Find the carrier and your set to go. If you really can't find your contacts carrier, You can send an email to all the carriers in the country.
Each phone number is unique to the carrier, no duplicates will ever exist. So by sending an email with the phone number you are trying to reach, plus the carrier info. You will get 1 positive result, and all the other emails will be bounced back to you as "undeliverable". The one that does not come back is the correct address.
Good Luck and let me know if it works out for you.

Will do and thanks for the comment, was not necessary. Wouldn't call myself a veteran of Hubpages, more of mess hall corporal. Take care and glad it worked out for your daughters phone. She will respond as an email to your phone unless you give her your 10 digit carrier number plus @whatever that may be.
Apart from Skype, I haven't tried any of these but will certaonly do - thanks!
Very useful information, international messaging can be very pricey.
Thank You PJdscott and Mulberry1 for you comments. If you need any further assistance with setting up your email let me know. Take care for now.

Very helpful ND, I knew there was a way but your hub makes it easy. I went to your blog and got my • Verizon [10-digit phone number]@vtext.com for my daughter's phone and I'm good to go.
Btw, do me a favor and visit a new hubber, who writes excellent hubs and could use a welcome from us veterans.
